We get to know a lot of kids as experienced pediatricians in Eugene, Oregon, and we’re always on the look-out for GREAT things to do, and all within a half-day drive! Check out our growing list of ideas, and get going!

Some of these activities are in Eugene-Springfield, and some are in the greater Oregon area.

High Desert Museum

    Fun for kids and adults, a must-see stop along Highway 97 just South of Bend, Oregon. See lots of birds and high desert wildlife, in addition to a recreated pioneer homestead, in a wonderful high desert setting.

Hoodoo Ski Area

    Just two hours' drive from Eugene-Springfield, in the Santiam Pass area, Hoodoo has all sorts of winter fun ideas and opportunities for children and families!

Kick City Indoor Soccer

    Kick City is a family friendly Sports Facility. They currently have two indoor soccer fields and 5 batting cages available for your use. From their Lil’ Kickers classes for kids to their adult leagues and Youth Leagues, “The Park” is the place in Lane County for fun and recreation.

Lane Ice Center

    Whether you want to take the family skating or train for national competition in figure skating or hockey, the Ice Center and Hockey Arena is the place for you.

    The 85' x 192' ice surface has been recognized for its quality by Olympic medalists Scott Hamilton and Paul Wylie. The well-lit facility includes arena-style seating for 2,700 spectators.

Mount Pisgah Arboretum

    Mount Pisgah Arboretum is a 209-acre living tree museum. Its riverside trails, quiet paths through evergreen forests, water garden teeming with life, bright wildflower meadows, and open views across oak savannas delight all ages. Located within Lane County's Howard Buford Recreation Area, the Arboretum lies between the Coast Fork of the Willamette River and the slopes of Mount Pisgah.

Multnomah Falls
  • Multnomah Falls
    Plummeting 620 feet from its origins on Larch Mountain, Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. Nearly two million visitors a year come to see this ancient waterfall.

    Fed by underground springs from Larch Mountain, the flow over the falls varies, usually it's highest during winter and spring. Be sure to check out some of the other great waterfalls close by, and stop at the incredibly scenic Vista House, with its awesome views of the Columbia River Gorge!
